Justin holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, Boulder, CO. He values providing a stable, patient, compassionate source of support for clients to find their way - whether it be seeking meaning and satisfaction in life, more peace and connection in relationships, healing old wounds, working with chronic pain, reducing the power of difficult habits and behaviors, spirituality issues, or achieving specific goals.
Justin's relational therapy approach is present-centered, person-centered, and embodied, using a blend of talk therapy, cognitive therapy, mindfulness, and body-based somatic methods. To work on certain issues of trauma, emotional blockages, dilemmas, pain, or performance issues, he invites in the Brainspotting technique as an option. Brainspotting is a straightforward and powerful method that directly works with the deep brain and body using eye gaze and mindful feeling.
He also teaches a somatic Tibetan yoga healing method called Kum Nye which helps with grounding, relaxation, emotional healing, and well-being. He has led workshops and courses on mindfulness and developing compassion in the US and Canada.
Originally from Virginia, Justin has lived out West for most of his adult life, with many years in Colorado, and enjoys being in nature, exercising, playing sports, doing yoga, and reading.

In the therapy process, I'm focused on offering a collaborative space for my clients to contact their own capacities for healing, self-awareness, kindness, acceptance, empowerment and confidence. I value providing a stable, patient, compassionate source of support for clients to find their way - whether it be seeking meaning and satisfaction in life, more peace and connection in relationships, healing old wounds, reducing the power of difficult habits and behaviors, issues with spirituality, or achieving specific goals.
My approach is present-centered, person-centered, and embodied. I take a relational, collaborative approach with my clients, and draw upon cognitive and somatic therapy methods and mindfulness practices to meet my client where they may be that day or in any moment. My wish is for all my clients to feel more in touch with what they deeply care about, feel more at ease and secure in themselves, feel more present in their life, and build their capacity to meet challenges with courage, humor and resilience.
The therapy methods and models I bring into practice include Person-centered Humanistic Psychology, Attachment Theory, Gestalt, Buddhist Psychology, Focusing, Brainspotting, cognitive approaches like Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), meditation & breathing exercises, and some of the gentle practices of Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga for grounding, relaxation and integration.
To work on certain issues of trauma, emotional blockages or dilemmas, I may invite in the Brainspotting technique as a suggestion, a very simple and powerful method that directly works with the deep brain and body using eye gaze and mindful feeling.
