Vertigo is a spinning sensation; dizziness can also feel like light-headedness or unsteadiness. Common treatable causes include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), neck-related (cervicogenic) dizziness and balance-system changes after injury.
Call 911 for dizziness with sudden weakness, numbness, facial droop, trouble speaking, double vision, severe headache or chest pain.
Dizziness can be frightening and is often dismissed; we take every description seriously. We screen for medical causes first, then test positional, neck and balance function to pinpoint the source and treat it.
Dr. Vickers provides vestibular rehabilitation, repositioning maneuvers for BPPV and care for neck-related dizziness.
Physical therapy builds balance, gaze stability and confidence with movement.
Acupuncture may help with nausea and associated tension.
Neurofeedback may support recovery when dizziness follows concussion or comes with anxiety.
Most plans combine two or more of these services, chosen together with you, and your providers share one plan so every visit builds on the last.
Dr. Vickers has training in vestibular and nerve rehabilitation and treats common causes such as BPPV after screening for medical causes.
It is vertigo caused by small crystals shifting in the inner ear. It often responds well to specific head-positioning maneuvers.
Any dizziness with stroke warning signs is an emergency. We refer for medical evaluation when needed.

This page is general education, not a diagnosis or a substitute for an exam. If your symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, contact your physician or call 911.
We take your word for how you describe your symptoms and your condition. We never dismiss what you feel.
With severe and chronic conditions, we spend the time to consider every potential cause instead of only treating surface symptoms.
Care is built on the movements you use every day, constant core activation, proper functional movement patterns and proper breathing mechanics.
Nobody is built the same or has been through the same things, so no two treatment plans are alike.
Tell us what you're feeling in your own words. We'll listen, look at the whole picture and build a plan around you.
