Low back pain is pain, stiffness or muscle tension between the bottom of the ribs and the top of the legs. At Allied Healthcare in Westminster, CO, we look past the sore spot to how your spine, hips, core and breathing work together, then rebuild the everyday movements that keep pain from coming back.

Low back pain is one of the most common reasons people visit our clinic. It can start suddenly after lifting, twisting or a long drive, or build slowly over months of sitting, standing or repetitive work. Most low back pain comes from the muscles, joints, discs and nerves of the lumbar spine and pelvis working under more load than they can handle.
Seek emergency care right away if back pain comes with loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the groin or inner thighs, progressive leg weakness, fever, or follows a major fall or accident.
We start by listening. You tell us where it hurts, what makes it worse, and what you can no longer do, and we take that seriously. Then we test how you bend, squat, hinge, rotate, breathe and balance to find which joints are stiff, which muscles are not doing their job, and what is overloading your low back. Your plan is built around what we find, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Gentle adjustments, joint mobilization and flexion-distraction restore motion in stiff spinal segments and the pelvis, which often reduces pain quickly and makes it easier to move well.
Physical therapy rebuilds core control, hip strength and safe lifting mechanics. Dry needling can release tight back and hip muscles so you can train without guarding.
Medical massage reduces muscle spasm in the low back, glutes and hip flexors and improves circulation so tissues recover between sessions.
Acupuncture can calm pain signaling and muscle tension, and is a helpful option for people who want drug-free pain relief alongside active rehab.
For recurring or long-standing pain, we can look at inflammation, body weight, sleep and daily habits that affect how your back recovers.
Most plans combine two or more of these services, chosen together with you, and your providers share one plan so every visit builds on the last.
Most low back pain does not need imaging at first. We screen for red flags at your first visit and will refer you for imaging or to a physician when your history or exam suggests it.
Many people feel meaningful relief within a few visits, but lasting results come from rebuilding movement, core control and strength. Your timeline depends on how long you have had pain and what is driving it.
Gentle, guided movement is usually better than bed rest. We will show you which movements are safe now and progress you as you improve.
No referral is needed. We accept health insurance as an out-of-network provider, as well as auto insurance claims and workers’ compensation claims, and every service can also be paid directly or through a monthly membership. Call (303) 465-6332 or request a free consultation to get started.
This page is general education, not a diagnosis or a substitute for an exam. If your symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, contact your physician or call 911.
We take your word for how you describe your symptoms and your condition. We never dismiss what you feel.
With severe and chronic conditions, we spend the time to consider every potential cause instead of only treating surface symptoms.
Care is built on the movements you use every day, constant core activation, proper functional movement patterns and proper breathing mechanics.
Nobody is built the same or has been through the same things, so no two treatment plans are alike.
Tell us what you're feeling in your own words. We'll listen, look at the whole picture and build a plan around you.
