What Is Plantar Fasciitis?

The plantar fascia supports the arch. When the calf is tight, the foot muscles are weak or training and standing time increase suddenly, the fascia can become irritated where it attaches to the heel.

Common Symptoms

  • Sharp heel pain with first morning steps
  • Pain after sitting then standing
  • Arch pain
  • Pain after long standing or walking

Common Contributing Factors

  • Tight calves and limited ankle motion
  • Weak foot and hip muscles
  • Sudden increases in activity
  • Unsupportive footwear
  • Long hours standing

How We Approach Plantar Fasciitis

Heel pain can make every step miserable; we listen to how it affects your day and look at the foot, ankle, knee, hip and gait. Care calms the tissue and rebuilds foot and leg strength. Read our client story on chronic plantar fasciitis to see how this works in practice.

  • Restoring the movements you use every day. We retrain walking, standing at work, running and climbing stairs, so progress shows up in your real life, not just on the treatment table.
  • Constant core activation. Hip and core control that reduces excess load on the foot.
  • Proper functional movement patterns. We coach how you hinge, squat, push, pull, carry, step and rotate, so load is shared across the whole body instead of piling up in one area.
  • Proper respiratory mechanics. Relaxed breathing during balance and foot strengthening work.
  • Looking past the symptoms. Especially with severe or long-standing problems, we take the time to consider every potential cause, including calf flexibility, footwear, training load, body weight and gait.
  • A plan built for you. Nobody is built the same or has been through the same things, so no two treatment plans are alike. Your plan is shaped around your history, your goals and how you respond.

How Our Services Help

Chiropractic Care

Foot and ankle mobilization, soft-tissue work and taping reduce pain.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy strengthens the foot, calf and hip and progresses walking and running; dry needling can help stubborn cases.

Massage Therapy

Massage of the calf and foot reduces tension on the fascia.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture may relieve heel pain.

Most plans combine two or more of these services, chosen together with you, and your providers share one plan so every visit builds on the last.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need custom orthotics?

Some people benefit. We assess your foot and recommend orthotics only if they're likely to help.

How long does plantar fasciitis last?

It often improves within weeks to months with consistent care.

Should I stretch my foot every morning?

Gentle calf and foot mobility before standing often helps. We'll show you how.

Do I need a referral, and do you take insurance?

No referral is needed. We accept health insurance as an out-of-network provider, as well as auto insurance claims and workers’ compensation claims, and every service can also be paid directly or through a monthly membership. Call (303) 465-6332 or request a free consultation to get started.
