Sciatica is pain, tingling or numbness that travels from the low back or buttock down the leg along the sciatic nerve. We look for what is irritating the nerve, whether a disc, joint, tight muscle or movement pattern, and treat that source rather than only the leg pain.

The sciatic nerve runs from the low back through the buttock and down the back of the leg. When it is compressed or irritated, pain can travel well away from where the problem starts. Common sources include disc bulges, joint inflammation, narrowing around the nerve, and tight hip muscles such as the piriformis.
Seek emergency care if sciatica comes with loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the groin, or rapidly worsening leg weakness.
Nerve pain is real and often exhausting, and we never dismiss how it feels. Our exam tests nerve sensitivity, reflexes and strength and identifies which positions ease or aggravate your symptoms. That tells us where the nerve is irritated and how to calm it, then we rebuild strength and movement so it stays calm.
Flexion-distraction, gentle adjustments and mobilization can reduce pressure on irritated nerve roots and restore spinal motion.
Physical therapy uses directional exercises, nerve glides, core and hip strengthening and dry needling of tight hip muscles to calm the nerve and build resilience.
Targeted massage of the glutes, piriformis and hip rotators can ease muscle tension that adds pressure to the nerve.
Acupuncture may help reduce nerve-related pain and muscle tension while active rehab addresses the cause.
Most plans combine two or more of these services, chosen together with you, and your providers share one plan so every visit builds on the last.
Many cases improve over weeks, but guided care often speeds recovery and lowers the chance of it returning by addressing what irritated the nerve.
Short, comfortable walks are often helpful. We will tell you which activities and positions help your specific case.
Most people improve with conservative care. If your exam suggests surgery should be considered, we will refer you to the right specialist.
No referral is needed. We accept health insurance as an out-of-network provider, as well as auto insurance claims and workers’ compensation claims, and every service can also be paid directly or through a monthly membership. Call (303) 465-6332 or request a free consultation to get started.
This page is general education, not a diagnosis or a substitute for an exam. If your symptoms are severe or getting worse quickly, contact your physician or call 911.
We take your word for how you describe your symptoms and your condition. We never dismiss what you feel.
With severe and chronic conditions, we spend the time to consider every potential cause instead of only treating surface symptoms.
Care is built on the movements you use every day, constant core activation, proper functional movement patterns and proper breathing mechanics.
Nobody is built the same or has been through the same things, so no two treatment plans are alike.
Tell us what you're feeling in your own words. We'll listen, look at the whole picture and build a plan around you.
